I recently found this script while on my journey and thought it would be a good idea to share it with you. There was no title, so I gave it my own, and the text was very feint but I have attempted to recreate it to the best of my ability.
The power of happiness
Happy people are healthy people. A society is comprised of people and therefore if we have happy people, we will have a healthy society. Happiness is not an external feature of a human. Happiness exudes from within, happiness comes with the acceptance of oneself. Happiness is not smiling or laughing, because frankly anybody can smile and laugh for the camera. Happiness is the feeling which immerses your body in the sense of being alive, normally when you are doing exactly what it is that you want to do.
Do you want to be happy?
Three tips to finding happiness.
- Remember that everything is impermanent. Including our bodies, thoughts, feelings, consciousness and everything else around us.
- Live and act in the present and do what you want to do with love.
- Forgive and Forget.
Many of us are born into society’s rushing main-stream and simply float along because we were never taught or have already forgotten that the “main-stream” is shallow enough to stand in. We must remember that we are able to get off of our floating devices and walk to the shore at any time in order to experience our lives in our own unique way.
If you feel uncomfortable in your “floating device”, it’s probably for a good reason. Find out what’s making you uncomfortable and change it. If you are uncomfortable with the fact that you are floating by, you may need to challenge the main-stream by taking a walk. If you are happy floating down the main-stream, then keep on going because you are happy and that’s the whole point. It’s difficult to be yourself in the society without being judged for who you are, but don’t worry about it, it’s society’s way of saying, “WE LOVE YOU”.
You may be thinking that you cannot make money by doing what you love and therefore you may not be able to survive. Have you tried? Or are you just taking society’s word for it and are afraid that you will drown in the shallow stream?
The chase for money makes some people to do crazy stupid things like pursue lifelong careers in fields which deep down inside, they are not interested in. This insane behavior leads to regret and depression later in life and we can not rewind the clock. The biggest picture shows us that we don’t need money to be happy or to survive, we need each other.
We are living in a fast paced society which is adding loads of pressure onto everybody to try and reach the top. The top of what? It seems like many of us carry out our daily activities without knowing why. The only guarantee we have in life is that we are all going to die and our bodies are going to return to the earth and therefore we should really consider slowing down the pace and begin seizing the day and living in the present moment.
I am not perfect in any way and I’m also not pointing fingers at anyone but let’s not be in a hurry to get to our destination. Let’s take in as many experiences as we can along the way and enjoy the journey, because once we reach our destination, it’s the impact we have made on our journey which society will remember us by.
